Pledges to Continue to Fight for President Trump’s America First Agenda
PANAMA CITY, FL — Austin Rogers, former General Counsel to U.S. Senator Rick Scott and Panama City native, today announced his candidacy for Congress in Florida’s Second Congressional District, pledging to be a strong, reliable vote for President Donald Trump’s America First agenda and Senator Scott’s Florida First priorities.
Rogers is running to secure the border, strengthen American businesses, fight for our military and law enforcement, stop the radical left’s assault on our values, and put Florida families and America first.
After graduating from Mosley High School, Rogers played college soccer before earning his law degree from Duke University. He comes from a family rooted in service. His father was a fighter pilot and flew two tours with the USAF Thunderbirds, and retired from Tyndall Air Force Base, where he now trains the next generation of warriors protecting America’s skies. His mother was a local schoolteacher at Lynn Haven and Southport Elementary, and she continues to volunteer in Bay District Schools.
“As President Trump and Senator Scott have shown, strong leadership matters,” Rogers said. “I was raised right here in the Second District, fishing these bays, hunting these woods, and competing on these fields. I was taught to love this country, respect hard work, and stand up for what’s right. I’ve seen firsthand how broken Washington is. Our nation needs more fighters who will fearlessly root out waste, fraud, and abuse in government.”
As former General Counsel to Senator Rick Scott, Rogers worked on the front lines of the conservative movement, helping advance President Trump’s agenda and fighting back against the radical policies pushed by Democrats in Washington. His work has directly benefited the Panhandle, including supporting Eastern Shipbuilding, strengthening public safety efforts, and helping local fishermen and small businesses cut through federal red tape.
Rogers emphasized that he is the only candidate in the race with real, hands-on experience, ready to deliver results on day one.
“I know how Congress actually works,” Rogers said. “I have drafted legislation, conducted congressional hearings, and led investigations holding the left accountable.”
“This district deserves a conservative fighter who will stand with President Trump, defend our borders, back law enforcement and the military, protect our freedoms, and put America First,” Rogers said. “I am running to be that voice for Florida’s Second Congressional District, and I humbly ask for your prayers, your support, and your vote.”
Rogers, born and raised in Bay County, and his wife, Hala, a dermatologist, have been married for five years. After Hala completed her medical residency in Washington, D.C., they chose to return to Austin’s hometown of Panama City to raise their children, Avonlea and Auggie, with the same values instilled in them. They are expecting their third child in February.
